A Collection for Purity & Clarity
The Damballah Sacred Bedroom Collection by Altari Sacred Living is rooted in purity, stillness, and spiritual alignment. This collection reflects a quiet, refined aesthetic that promotes clarity and connection to higher consciousness.
Role in Creation: Damballah is said to have formed the cosmos using his 7,000 coils, creating stars, planets, and shaping mountains and valleys. By shedding his skin, he created all the waters on Earth, signifying his role as a source of life.
Symbolism & Vèvè: He is represented by a serpent, often depicted in a figure-eight or undulating pattern. His vèvè is drawn with white flour, featuring serpentine lines and sometimes a cross or stake, representing his connection to.
Nature and Communication: Damballah is cool, patient, and wise, often remaining aloof from daily human drama. He rarely speaks when possessing a devotee, preferring to communicate through actions or a gentle hissing sound, or via dreams.
Syncretism: In heavily Catholic areas of Haiti, he is often syncretized with Saint Patrick (who drove snakes from Ireland) or Moses.
Offerings and Colors: His colors are white and sometimes green. Offerings include white eggs (his favorite), white flour, almond-flavored orgeat syrup, and white chicken.
Partnership: His wife is Ayida-Weddo, the Rainbow Serpent, with whom he shares his power and a combined vèvè, though he is often associated with the rainbow himself, representing the continuity of life.
